QuietOn 3.1 has been optimized to reduce snoring sounds to the greatest possible extent.
Yes. You just need to make sure to turn up the volume of your alarm tone to make sure you hear it. You can test this before going to bed.
No earplug or any other device can make total silence. However, it is still the most effective solution to cancel sounds of snoring and other noises disturbing your sleep. Active noise cancelling technology uses a microphone to sample the sound, and a speaker to create a phase-shifted sound that cancels the original sound. It is different from using white noise to mask the original noise.
Our QuietOn 3 product package includes the XS, S, M and L size (extra small, small, medium and large) foam tips. (1 set each, 1 set includes 2 tips).
For QuietOn 2 the package includes sizes S, M and L foam tips.
It happens because your finger may cover the microphone of the earbud by accident. The microphone is located under the two tiny holes of the earbud. When you are in the process of putting the earbud in your ear, the earbud is in the hearing mode, so it is possible to create this kind of sound. But once you move your finger away, this sound should naturally disappear.
It is important to replace the foam tips from time to time for the reasons of hygiene and cancellation performance of the device. If you use the device on daily basis, we recommend to change the tips every one or two months. In order to keep them in good condition, please keep the device only for personal use and avoid changing the tips for unnecessary reason.
You can maintain the foam tips properly in order to prolong the life expectancy by wiping with a soft damp cloth.
Below are a few recommended testing scenarios for QuietOn 3.1. These scenarios focus on low frequency sounds, including home appliances and traffic noises, which typically keep us up at night. QuietOn 3 was designed to reduce those low frequency sounds to deliver a better night’s sleep.
Scenario 1: Home appliance
1. Place the correct side earbuds in both ears. Reference this guide to make sure they are inserted properly and that you’re wearing the right size.
2. Wait 15-20 seconds for the earbuds to expand and create an airtight seal in your ears. The change will be gradual as the device adjusts.
3. With the correct size earbuds properly inserted in both ears, stand next to a home appliance (dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, AC unit etc.) that makes a low-frequency rumbling noise. The hum of the appliance should be significantly reduced. In the same position, remove the earbuds to notice noise level increase.
4. Then, if you’re typically able to hear the appliance in a separate room, test that as well. From another room, the sound of the appliance should be very faint or even completely eliminated.
Note: Appliance noise that comes through the walls, rather than appliance noise that is in the same room, is more likely to keep someone up at night.
Scenario 2: TV in a separate room
1. Place the correct side earbuds in both ears. Reference this guide to make sure they are inserted properly and that you’re wearing the right size.
2. Wait 15-20 seconds for the earbuds to expand and create an airtight seal in your ears. The change will be gradual as the device adjusts.
3. With the correct size earbuds properly inserted in both ears and the TV on, go into a separate room. The sound of the TV should be significantly reduced, if not eliminated entirely. In the same position, remove the earbuds to notice noise level increase.
Note: this testing scenario is most effective in homes where the TV can be heard through the walls in other rooms – as opposed to a more open floor plan.
Scenario 3: Traffic
1. Place the correct side earbuds in both ears. Reference this guide to make sure they are inserted properly and that you’re wearing the right size.
2. Wait 15-20 seconds for the earbuds to expand and create an airtight seal in your ears. The change will be gradual as the device adjusts.
3. With the correct size earbuds properly inserted in both ears, stand in an area of your home where you typically hear traffic/street noises. Those low-frequency sounds should be significantly reduced, if not eliminated entirely.
4. In the same position, remove the earbuds to notice noise level increase.
QuietOn is super small and soft, which makes it comfortable to wear while sleeping. The active noise cancellation has been optimized for snoring and sounds coming through walls. These sounds cannot be blocked by normal passive earplugs.
QuietOn 3 and 2 are made from safe and user-friendly materials. The materials are plastics (Polyamide, Polycarbonate, ABS, TPE), Polyurethane Rubber, Stainless Steel and Gold.
QuietOn’s are compliant with UL/CSA/IEC/EN 62368.
The performance of our QuietOn Active Noise Cancelling wireless earbuds is measured by using test persons. For that, a tiny but precise microphone is needed. QuietOn uses Knowles SPU1410LR5H-QB.
We have measured it first and made a calibration file to obtain the real signal response. This microphone is then put inside the test person’s ear. Afterwards, we play sine sweep through the audio spectrum with a calibrated speaker (custom made Pekka Tuomela Hifi 45/3 model) with 85dB volume from 1m distance.
By recording this microphone signal we can get so called open ear measurement.
When these steps are concluded, we put the earbud inside the ear and play the test signal again. It is important to keep the ear exactly in the same place and orientation between the measurements.
After this, we can calculate the difference between the open ear and the earbud in ear signals. This gives the accurate noise cancelling performance for the noise cancelling devices. In the production we are using an automatic test system which is based on artificial ear. All the earbuds are tested with various audio tests.
