From 30.08. to 05.09.2018, our earplugs took a somewhat unusual city trip to the German capital and, for once, did not immerse themselves in Berlin’s characteristic diversity of history, art and culture. Instead, QuietOn spent six days at the „Internationale Funkausstellung“, leading the visitors into their own realm of silence amidst thousands and thousands of technology fans, dancing robots or three-dimensional VR magic cubes. While some attendees came across the Finnish innovation by coincidence, many recognized their opportunity to finally get a golden ticket out of their relationship problems caused by nocturnal snoring sounds.
But the earplugs did not only captivate the attention of sleep-seeking Berliners. National and international journalists were also impressed by QuietOn Sleep’s effectiveness, its pleasant wearing comfort and, in particular, its unbeatably small size.
Tim To, for ubergizmo always on the hunt for promising technical innovations, finds QuietOn Sleep “a really interesting gadget, which not only helps a snoring partner but also works in a noisy hotel room” and fits “comfortably in the ear“. Even media from afar were fascinated by the unique technology inside the tiny earplug. Página Siete, a daily newspaper from Bolivia, refers in this context to the active noise cancellation of the “small earplugs”, which effectively detects snoring sounds and attenuates them. The South China Morning Post summarizes accurately: „Technology may be the reason many a lot of us lack sleep, but it could be the cure, too.“
